Gaz’s App Pick: Audio Book Builder, I’ve picked this before but I recently bought some audio books from a charity shop, and as iTunes does not import Audio CD’s I went straight back to my favored program. It’s available through the Mac App store in the UK at £2.99 this is a steal at that price. There is a free trial on the web site but to be honest just buy it. $4.99

First off it’s a shorter show than usual and we have a special interview with the woman that does the Siri voice (kinda). Lot’s of G+ stuff, and everything else you might expect from a MyMac Podcast and we are deeply and humbly apologetic about it.

Guy’s App Pick: Not an App pick actually. The MOGA ACE POWER game controller for any 5th generation iPhone gives you that external controller you think you always wanted. PLUS it has a built-in 1800 mAh battery which will extend the life of your phone as well. $99

Gaz’s App Pick: OK as we went to London I prepared with a few Apps
I already owned it currently costs £2.49 Tube Map App by M X Data.
I also used CityMapper (which I think also do other cities around the world. this one is free from CityMapper Ltd.
I also had an App to pay for our Car Park at Stanmore Station, the App is of course free but the parking costs 🙂 The App is DASH from Adaptis Solutions.

We also hired some of what are called the Boris Bikes, where you pay for the use of a Bike and then pay for the period you use it. I think again other cities use these I’ve put a link to the TFL website, and also to the App from Barclays but I think they will not be sponsoring the bikes in the future so the App may change. So I’ve also sent a link to a Bike App which is independent both Apps are free.

People’s Pick: Allister Jenks likes Triage by Southgate Labs. $1.99 for those people who get a lot of email and want to scan through it quickly.

Guy’s App Pick: Call Recorder by eCamm software $30. If you need to record anything related to Skype, this is the software to have. It just works. I could quibble about recording as a MOV file instead of pure audio, but they include tools for conversion. It’s what I use to record those huge amounts of calls to our Skype line.
Gaz’s App Pick: One Game to rule them all. Lego Lord of the Rings for the Mac.

Here is a great people’s pick for everybody.  Sonic Dash is an excellent endless runner, like Temple Run.  You get to play as Sonic the hedgehog and run through a colorful world full of baddies, spikes, bombs, you will even loop upside down on occasion.  It is free in the App Store as a universal app for iPad and iPhone.  It has in-app purchases but you definitely don’t need to purchase any of them to play or enjoy the game.

Guy is back from Florida a little early so was able to get the wherewithal to do a podcast. Gaz however is still exhausted from last week’s show with Will Green so wasn’t able to be here. Bart Busschotts from too many podcasts to list (OK we COULD list them but few people read these notes) agreed to fill in and the result was not only a very fun podcast, but the LONGEST after-show recordings we’ve ever done. We talked about how Mavvericks won’t mean the end for some well known and vital software, lots of off-topic tangents (surprise), and how to get out of a speeding ticket in Tel Aviv.

OK despite the best of intentions this is another long show. However we don’t think you’ll be bored because Gaz and Guy spend a lot of time discussing really cool stuff and, well make jokes at each other’s expense. So yeah same stuff, just longer. They talk a bit about WWDC (TF) and how well they did (amazingly so) on their predictions. Also, what some of their favorite apps and utilities are going to do now that a good deal of their functionality is being built into OS X.

Well WWDC is almost upon us and the internets is exploding with thoughts and ideas why someone OTHER than Apple’s executives should be creating new stuff. Naturally about the same number as Ivory Soap’s purity (99.9%) will be wrong. Guy and Gaz would like to add to that number by talking about what they think will happen and the BEST part is you’ll know immediately just how wrong they were since this comes out after the WWDC Keynote. YAY! Also, hope you got some extra time, this is a loooong show.
